Submission Guidelines

Submission Process

Films and Screenplays of any genre are accepted for submission only through an designated Online platform, and all films and screenplays submitted to the International Beverly Hills Film Festival are first reviewed by our expert Festival Selection Committee. The Online submission system allows filmmakers and screenplay writers to answer required questions and submit all requested documents at once without having to go through several processes to submit their artistic work. Whether chosen as an Official Selection or not, all those who submit their entry(s) receive a rejection or acceptance notification and further step-by-step instructions about future actions.

Selection Process for Films

The Selection Committee carefully assesses each film and screenplay submission, and it reaches a final consensus based on a set of internal criteria. This is a meticulous task that requires numerous months of pure dedication. Each year, the Selection Committee thoroughly evaluates every single submission. Through a process of elimination, a number of highly qualified films are chosen to be screened at the festival as the Official Selections. The main factors that the Selection Committee builds its detailed criteria on are excellence in quality, technique, and originality. Films of any genre are accepted for submission. The BHFF proudly dedicates awards in set categories that can be reviewed here.

Selection Process for Screenplays

The Selection Committee first chooses an approximate number of screenplay finalists after numerous months of intense deliberation. From these highly qualified entries, three screenplays are chosen by the BHFF Selection Committee to receive awards on the closing night of the ceremony. These prestigious awards include: The Golden Palm Screenplay Award, First Runner-Up, and Second Runner-Up.
